Motown Museum

Belle Isle conservancy

Belle Isle Park, known simply as Belle Isle, is a 982-acre island park in Detroit, Michigan, developed in the late 19th century. It consists of Belle Isle, an island in the Detroit River, as well as several surrounding islets. The U.S.-Canada border is in the channel south of Belle Isle.

Free Attractions & Activities

  • Belle Isle Nature Center: Daily entry and educational programs are 100% free.

  • Belle Isle Aquarium: Open Thursday through Sunday; entry is free (though donations are encouraged).

  • Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory:

    Free entry to the historic glass dome and surrounding greenhouses (open Wednesday through Sunday).
